Does your family entertain other family members or friends for dinner? If so, we want to hear from you. We have some simple steps to make it easier and to help all your family members get involved.
- put all the chores that need to be done on a piece of paper and then put them in a jar. Let everyone take a turn and grab out two or three chores. This lets everyone get excited about what they might choose. It works for kids very well.
- Mix up the chores. If you kids have chores that are specifically theirs you will be surprised at how grateful they will be if someone switches with them.
What about paying your kids to help? Do you do that or do you think its wrong to pay kids to help clean?
ReplyDeleteNo, I think you can pay kids to help if it is for chores they normally are not responsible for. Every family does it a little bit different.
ReplyDeleteMy family plays a game that works great for clean up after a party. We give each kid a plastic grocery store bag and tell them the person with the most trash at the end wins a small prize. We set a timer and let them rip! You would be surprised how fast things get clean.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Lisa. What kind of prizes do you give...I need ideas.
ReplyDeleteYou would be amazed at how little the prizes can be. A sticker, a little toy from McDonalds, etc. It's more about bragging rights with my kids. My youngest loves to feel like she can do something better than her big brother so as a mom, I make sure I capitalize on that! :)
