Bedroom Makeovers in No Time

Do your kids hate cleaning their rooms? Do you find it difficult to be inspired in your own room? One day a month take some family time to clean each others rooms. There are two ways to go about this. Every one pitches in and cleans every ones bedroom. Together go to the bedroom needing help and every one has a job. Change sheets, Make Bed and Arrange stuffed animals. Put all toys away in proper places, and wipe down furniture. Hang up clothes, take down dirty laundry. Garbage duty, pick up garbage and empty garbage cans. Vacuum and dust. Before you know it every ones room will be clean and you will have worked together to achieve this.
The second way to go about this, if your rooms are too small or you just would like to change it up is to have every one in the family clean someone else's room. Meaning, mom and dad, one of the kids cleans yours. Now you can have rules that say beds, toys, garbage only. This keeps older kids from feeling their personal items, clothing and desks will be taken out of their unique way of sorting things. Sometimes it's easier to clean someone else's room then your own.

  1. I love this idea. It would make for much fun. My daughter likes to reorganize her brothers rooms all the time. They like the help and she likes the control.....:-)

  2. Yes, girls in general do love to decorate spaces. My 12 year old daughter loves to re-decorate all the time.
